Crows Nest

Tucked away in a corner in downtown Kalamazoo there is a little place that doesn't look like much called the Crows Nest.  I had two very unique dishes here and they were both great.  I started off with a Black Chi Tea which was good and creamy and almost tasted like drinking pumpkin pie, I would highly recommend it.

Then it was time for the main coarse I chose the  First Mate Burger or as I like to call it "The Tread Meal" because that is where I am going to be later tonight sweating out my guilt.  The First Mate is a great flavorful burger and it is built as such; Two onion rings, sauteed onions, spinach, tomato,  house made red pepper aioli, and provolone.  All I can say is that the picture does not do it justice, it was not dry and I could taste flavor in every bite.

This should have been enough but the server, who was very good, recommended that before I leave I try the Peanut Butter Cup French Toast.  Here is the description and a pic so you can dream about it later; sarkozy bakery chalks topped with house made peanut butter and chocolate syrup. The peanut butter that I had was made fresh 30 min prior to me eating this.  Its a good thing I only ordered one, and that's all I have to say about that.
